An inaugural event hosted by JobsCentral Learning (JCL), the Training, Education and Development (T.E.D) Awards is the first of its kind which recognises Private Education Institutions (PEIs) and Corporate Training Providers (CTPs). This award is designed to commend PEIs or CTPs for their outstanding performance in learning services delivered to their students and clients. Judging for the awards were based on both online voting by members of the public, and an esteemed panel of renowned judges who are maestros in their respective industry. Consisting of 16 categories, this year’s awards saw a total of 18 PEI and 10 CTP participants. Apart from the main award winners, an additional Gold Standard Service Provider Award was presented to award participants who obtained a minimum 25% of public votes.

The award ceremony was held on the afternoon of 1 December, at M Hotel Singapore to an excited crowd of participants and winners. The biggest winner of the afternoon went to Kaplan Singapore which won the most awards in both the PEI and CTP categories. They received a total of seven major awards and two Gold Standard Service Provider Awards. “The JCL T.E.D awards is one of the most comprehensive awards of its kind within Singapore itself, and its renown has spread beyond Singapore’s shores to around the region. So having won so many awards and in so many of the categories, is really an honour for us” said Leon Choong, President, Kaplan Singapore.

Other winners like the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS), also expressed their joy having won the Best PEI School Award for Psychology. “We are indeed very honoured to have received this award. As it is a true reflection of the high quality standard of our programme offered at the MDIS School of Psychology. It provides a recognition which will certainly create a greater visibility and awareness of our programmes. This includes niche programmes such as Psychology which we had won the award for,” said Jesline Wong, Director of Corporate and Student Development, MDIS.

I observed them to be focused and dedicated to serve their stakeholders to the best of their abilities. These institutions have shown true commitment to their causes and a fine example for others to emulate,” said judge Kwok Shiung Fong, General Manager of PTL Group.

We would like to congratulate the winners, and thank all participants for making our inaugural JCL T.E.D Awards such a success! We look forward to making next year’s JCL T.E.D Awards bigger and better with more categories and participants.
