Programme Structure


Course Module and Synopsis - WSQ Certificate in Healthcare

Intervention Implementation in Therapy Support
This unit focuses on providing a safe and hygienic work environment by Health Attendants or Therapy Aides to assist Allied Health Professionals or Therapy Assistants while giving treatments, interventions and other services to the patients.

Client Assessment in Therapy Support
This unit covers how to give general assistance to Allied Healthcare Professionals and Therapy Assistants while providing treatments, interventions and other services to the patients.

Inventory Control and Equipment Maintenance in Rehabilitation Care
This unit covers the skills necessary for preparation and maintenance of equipment and materials to assist Allied Health Professionals and Therapy Assistants while providing treatments, interventions and other services to the patients.

Infection Control
This unit covers workplace safety, health policies and procedures. It also equips Health Attendants and Therapy Aides with the skills required of how to prevent infections and work overload, to handle injuries and work in a safe manner.

First-aid
This unit will provide the knowledge and application skills in demonstrating first aid/CPR skills and be able to apply them to the workplace.

We have another program, Certificate in Patient Service which complements the above program.

Course Module and Synopsis - Certificate in Patient Service by CSM Acdemy

Module One – Foundation

The first module covers the basic concepts of being a Patient Service Associate. Participants will be introduced to the Healthcare industry expectations, ethical considerations, Hospital Management Systems, Branches of Medicine and Medical Terms. Participants will be guided on how to work in a person-centred way and be aware of the needs of patients with dementia, mental health and learning disability.

Module Two – Intermediate
The second module focuses on the knowledge and skills of interacting with patients. After completing the module, participants are expected to be able to apply adaptive communication to approach patients, identify patients’ needs, help upset patients, register patients, schedule appointments for patients, provide professional patient service skills in person or on the phone. 
Participants will acquire knowledge regarding Medisave, billing procedures, insurance verification, hospital equipment, cashiering and payment collection in this module.

Module Three – Advanced
This module is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required to support the work in clinics and hospitals. Participants are expected to be able to measure patients’ vitals, document cases, handle case files, support patient consultations, transport patients between wheelchair and bed, as well as conduct disinfection and sterilisation of items in the clinic.  
There are a few experiential learning days in this module arranged for participants to simulate providing patient service in a healthcare workplace. They will also have opportunities to observe the actual operations in the healthcare industry.

Career Opportunities - WSQ Certificate in Healthcare
You can work as therapy aides in various healthcare settings, for example, physiotherapists, occupational therapist clinics in private setting and government hospital; rehab centre in nursing homes and physically disabled homes.

It is also excellent for your personal growth and knowledge as the skills acquired can be utilised at home for family, for friends and for the community at large.

Entry Requirements


Language Requirements:
At least a C6 at PSLE or equivalent

Academic Requirements:
Obtained at least a C6 at Secondary II Levels in any three subjects or equivalent.

Students who do not meet requirements but the working experience will be considered on a case to case basis.

WSQ Certificate in Healthcare 

Course Duration

Full time: 5 weeks (8-hour lessons/day, 5 days/week)
Part time: 5 months (3-hour lessons/day, 3 days/week)

Course Structure
There are a total of 5 modules have to be completed and passed, you will be *awarded with five (5) Statement of Attainment (SOA) with an Overall Certification in Healthcare.

Graduation Requirements and Awards
Students must complete and pass all 5 modules to be awarded the WSQ Certificate in Heathcare will be conferred by the CSM Academy International Pte Ltd.

Local students must achieve an attendance of 75% and international students must achieve an attendance of 90% in any month of the course.

 Practical Assessment and/or Summative Assessments

- The modules will be assessed through role play and examinations.

- Graduation Requirement and Awards
To graduate, a student must complete all three modules and pass the final assessment/role play.
