Introduction


Embark on a transformative journey in mental health care with the Graduate Certificate in Mental Health awarded by Edith Cowan University, in collaboration with CSM Academy International.

Do you have a degree in health, counselling, social work, occupational therapy, nursing, midwifery, human resources or any psychology related area? Or you have worked in a mental health related area for the past 5 years?

Whatever your experiences, this course provides you with an overview of contemporary and evidence-based approaches to the delivery of mental health care.

You will gain an appreciation of the historical context of mental health care and develop a range of assessment and intervention skills that can be applied in a range of mental health settings.

The course also enables you to critically evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of various management strategies for supporting clients with a mental illness in the community.

Entry Requirements


Academic Admission Requirements:
All applicants are required to have a Bachelor degree in a health, counselling, social work, occupational therapy, nursing, midwifery or psychology related area; or equivalent prior learning including at least five years relevant professional working experience.

English Langauage Requirement:
English competency requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • Bachelor degree from an approved country
  • IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0);

Duration & Intake


Programme Duration


Intake Period:
Every January & July

Blended learning Online learning:
Students will engage in learning experiences via ECU’s LMS as well as additional ECU learning technologies. Intensive lectures:

  1. Each module will have 2 days of intensive lectures at the beginning of the semester. 100% of all Lecturers are from the University.
  2. Each module will have 5 evenings of 2 to 2.5 hours tutorials spread over the entire semester.

Tutorials are by local Senior Leaders in the healthcare industry.



Fees & Funding


Application Fee (Non-Refundable and non-transferrable)
For local students:S$2,450 per module totalling S$7,350 (before GST) for entire course.
For International Students: S$2,450 per module totalling S$7,350 (before GST) for entire course.
