Course introduction

Discover the joy of photography, recognized as the world's most popular hobby. The Digital Basic Photography Course will bring you into the exciting world of digital photography. You will be taught the basic theory and fundamentals of photography. At PSS, we believe that it is essential for one to be well-versed in the fundamentals. You will be trained to develop a creative approach to capture images with impact. The course is unique as it is based on a modular system and taught by different instructors specializing in different fields. Participants will be exposed to the various specialization of photography of photography and allow the participants to interact with different instructors who possess different styles.



Course Pre-Requisites


Participants are required to bring a DSLR/MILC camera on the first lesson.



Course Outline

In the event that you miss any of the modules, you may go for a make-up in another batch within six months from the commencement of your original first class.


Lesson 1: Introduction to Photography

    * Introduction to camera
    * Introduction to lens
    * Aperture
    * Shutter speed
    * Focus length
    * Composition
    * Depth of field


Lesson 2: Introduction to the Functionalities of a Camera

    * Metering
    * Exposure compassion
    * White balance
    * ISO
    * A mode
    * S mode
    * M mode


Lesson 3: Day Outing at Botanic Gardens (Weekend)

    * Zoom or close up photography
    * Wide angle photography
    * Perspective and framing
    * Fast shutter
    * Slow shutter


Lesson 4: Photo Clinic

    * Review of Course Content
    * “Do’s” and “Don’t’s” of Course Submissions
    * Photo Critique Session


Assessment

Upon completion of the course, students are required to submit 6 pcs. of 8R/S8R prints for assessment. The instructor will brief the participants on course submissions.

A course certificate will be awarded for successful submission.
