Introduction


OBJECTIVES

  • Draft a basic dress block with given specifications or measurements
  • Apply dart manipulation or slash and spread method to develop various types of dress patterns
  • Label, mark individual pattern pieces with symbol and notches
  • Sew a dress toile for fit
  • Evaluate the dress toile against given specifications or individual body measurements
  • Sew a dress against the given specifications or measurements

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Preferably possess at least 3 GCE “N” level passes including English and Mathematics or ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 4 and above.

Student needs prior knowledge / experience of following modules
  1. 3 months of working experience and basic knowledge of pattern drafting
  2. WSQ Develop Apparel Pattern through Drafting and Sew Basic Tops and Skirts
  3. WSQ Develop Apparel Pattern through Drafting and Sew Basic Bottoms and Tops with Variations of Collars OR
  4. Diploma in Fashion Technology (Design and Product Development)

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Participant will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) provided he/she meets the following requirements:

75% attendance rate
Assessed to be competent in given competency standard

CERTIFICATE ISSUANCE

Upon succcessful completion of the course, trainee will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ Certification is nationally endorsed and recognised by industry partners.
