Introduction
The Diploma in International Business Management course is specially designed for those who work, or wish to work in areas of business that involve an understanding of the fundamentals of business management.
The course equips student with the knowledge to comprehend basic principles of conventional sales and services, service quality and business communication, business information technology, working with and leading people, organizational behavior and managing resources for business, providing them the ability to apply this knowledge to various roles in organizations.
Graduation and Qualification
Students who pass all required assessments and assignments will be awarded a Diploma in International Business Management awarded by Coleman College. Students who have successfully completed the Diploma in International Business Management can progress to the Advanced Diploma in Business Management awarded by Coleman College.
Curriculum Overview
Programme Structure
At the end of the course, students are expected to:
- Understand service quality and business communication and know the best practices in the industry today
- Understand the fundamentals of marketing focusing on the aspects of services with the core marketing mix such as product, price, promotion and place, together with the emphasis on building customer loyalty, managing customers feedback and service recovery.
- Understand the fundamentals of organizational behavior pertaining to personality, value, emotion, motivation, group behavior, leadership, power, conflicts, culture and to manage changes effectively in the organization.
- Analyze key performance indicators in various forms of organizations and be able to develop and apply knowledge of different types of organizations, strengths, weaknesses and organizational effectiveness
- Understand the use of information technology in business operations and decision making
- Understand ways to manage teams and individuals as well as motivating staff to perform better while meeting the aims of the organization
- Learn how human resources are managed and the purpose of managing physical and technological resources

Module Synopsis/ObjectivesService Quality and Business Communication
The unit aims to equip learners with the fundamental understanding of service quality and business communication through the various real-life case studies. Learners will appreciate the methodologies taught in class in analyzing case studies and learn the industrial best practices in place.
Service Marketing
The unit aims to equip learners with the fundamental understanding of marketing focusing on the aspects of services with the core marketing mix such as product, price, promotion and place, together with the emphasis on building customer loyalty, managing customers feedback and service recovery.
Organizational Behavior
The unit aims to equip learners with the fundamental understanding of organizational behavior pertaining to personality, values, emotion, motivation, group behavior, leadership, power, conflicts, culture and to manage changes effectively in the organization.
Convention Sales and Services
Learners will learn to analyze key performance indicators in various forms of organizations in the new economy and be able to develop and apply knowledge of different types of organizations, strength, weaknesses and organizational effectiveness.
Business IT (Information Technology)
The unit aims to equip learners with the fundamental of using information Technologies in business operations and decision making, understanding the needs of information security management while developing the Information Management System within the organization.
Working with and leading People
Learners will explore ways to manage teams and individuals as well as motivating staff to perform better while meeting the aims of the organization.
Managing Resources for Business
Learners will learn how human resources are managed and the purpose of managing physical and technological resources. Learners will also know how to access sources of finance and be able to interpret financial statements.
Project
Learners will be required to write a consultation report, where learners are to do research covering key issues in the business industry. Research will consist of review of primary and secondary sources (e.g., information booklets and newspapers), case comparisons, and if possible, interviews. Learners will learn to review a myriad of literature, define problem(s), be able to analyse problems critically and recommend solutions. It also enables learners to improve their communication and report writing and presentation skills through this project.
