Course introduction

It is designed to provide an overview and basic awareness of the role a retail assistant plays in the retail, within their organisation and in delivering service to customers. In SAMH, we design our course and activities to suit the learning needs of Persons-in-Recovery.



Target Audience


Persons-In-Recovery and Persons-At-Risk of developing mental health related conditions, who are seeking skills training and gainful employment opportunities.



Course Outline


This course is designed in 3 main lessons that equip an individual with skills and knowledge to

  • identify his purpose and role in the industry
  • learn and discover his potential in a retail organisation
  • play an important role in service delivery

Trainer Profile


Yvonne Low

11 years in training, Yvonne was exposed to retail and operations training within the region during the 7-year tenure with an international retailer where she managed the full spectrum of training & development under the WSQ In-House ATO status & ITE-COJTC status. She was managing curriculum and training quality in a CET/Public ATO previously thus is able to create practical and quality learning infused with rich and insightful examples for her learners.

Her key domain expertise are in retail and service excellence, employability skills and in leadership & people management.
She is currently holding the position of Manager in MINDSET Learning Hub.
