Master of Education in Early Childhood EducationProvided by: Kaplan Higher Education AcademyAwarded by: Monash UniversityCourse IntroductionProgramme DescriptionThis programme addresses the professional learning needs of educators, educational administrators, managers, policy makers and others interested or involved in learning and education or educational work in the wider community, and who may be based either locally or internationally. This programme focuses on early childhood education and its associated learning concepts and learning contexts. The programme builds students’ learning through broadening their knowledge or key constructs related to learning concepts and contexts, deepens their professional learning in early childhood education and advances their capacity as professional inquirers. Graduation & Degree Awarded Students who successfully complete and pass the modules stipulated in the programme structure will be awarded the Master of Education in Early Childhood Education from Monash University, Australia. The Degree will be the same as that awarded to the on-campus graduates in Australia. Career Opportunities This programme is designed to meet the needs of educators, educational administrators, managers, policy makers and others interested or involved in learning and education within the wider educational community or working in the corporate or government sector. The programme is not accredited by the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA). Graduates who wish to work in the local early childhood sector will need to submit an application to ECDA for Teacher Registration via a preschool. The Student Development Fee covers the provision of a comprehensive range of initiatives aimed at enhancing the career and industry-readiness of Kaplan students, such as programmes aimed at improving interpersonal skills, technical and digital skills, as well as career advisory and job matching services. All fees indicated are inclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST) at the prevailing rate. The prevailing GST rate from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023 is 8%. From 1 January 2024, the GST rate will increase to 9%. For more information on the GST revision, please refer to the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) website. Please refer to the official price list for a detailed breakdown. Fees remain subject to change. Applicant will be charged the prevailing fees and GST at the time of application. Commencement Date There are 2 intakes per year: – April – October Please contact our programme consultant to obtain a copy of the class schedule. Minimum class size: 20 students Class may commence with fewer students than indicated above, subject to resource availability. In the event of cancellation, you will be notified at least 1 week before the programme commencement date, stated in your student contract with Kaplan, and our consultants will contact you to advise on a backup plan. Maximum allowed candidature period: 4 years If a student fails to complete the programme within the candidature period, they will not be entitled to any recourse or refund Study Mode & DurationDeliveryEach term is a 3-month period covering 1 course of study. Each unit consists of 20 contact hours and will be conducted on week 4 or week 5 of the term, from Thursday till Sunday, after office hours in the evenings and/or over the weekends/public holidays.
