Course introduction

Introduction


This accounting and finance degree course brings together the twin disciplines of accountancy and finance. Students will get a solid grasp of accounting techniques, business strategies, financial legislation and management, and taxation and understand how they are being applied in today’s business world.

This degree is recognised by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales (ICAEW). It is also on the list of universities recognised for admission to Singapore CA Qualification (Foundation) programme.

Upon graduation, students will receive exemptions of up to*

  • 9 ACCA papers
  • 5 Singapore CA papers
  • 4 ICAEW papers
* Graduates will receive formal notification of exemptions when they register with the professional bodies.

Entry Requirements


Local Qualifications

Direct Entry to Academic Year 2

  • Local Polytechnic Diploma in Accountancy, Banking, Business, Finance, or Management-related fields; OR
  • PSB Academy Diploma in Business Administration (Accounting and Finance); OR
  • Other Private Institutions Diplomas in Accounting/Business-related fields; OR
  • ACCA or CAT professional qualifications; OR
  • Students with other qualifications will be considered as a case-by-case basis
Direct Entry to Academic Year 1
  • 3 GCE ‘A’ Levels (At least 1 business-related subject such as Business, Economics, and Mathematics);
For all cases, students’ admission to this programme ultimately depends on the University’s final decision.

English Language Requirements
  • 1 GCE ‘O’ level English (Grade C6) or equivalent; OR
  • IELTS score of at least 6.0; OR
  • PSB Academy’s Certificate in English Proficiency course; OR
  • PSB Academy’s Certificate in Academic English course; OR
  • An equivalent English language qualification

Programme Duration


Students will be studying between 3 to 4 modules per trimester and complete within 16* to 28 months.
