Course introduction


The Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) market is burgeoning, and the demand for qualified professionals grows along with it. Aside from its career potential, the opportunity to contribute to the development of a generation is strong incentive for many. The objective of this programme is to prepare students to fulfil roles as assistant teachers and caregivers in Early Childhood Care and Education, playing nurturing roles in the care and development of young children. The course will provide you with the ability to carry out relevant routines, prepare teaching aids, assist in activities and help set up the learning environment.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of the course, caregivers will be able to:

  • Gain understanding of the growth and development of children;
  • Develop skills in responding to the basic needs of children effectively;
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of quality learning and creative experiences for young children;
  • Appreciate the importance of a stimulating but safe environment for young children to explore and interact;
  • Gain knowledge on children’s health and nutritional requirements; and
  • Appreciate their role in the field of early childhood education.

Award of Certificate
