Students learn the scientific underpinnings of the discipline of psychology across a range of key areas, including social, developmental, cognitive and biological psychology. Students are equipped with skills to critically evaluate psychological theory and research, as well as gain hands-on training in quantitative and qualitative research methods.
The programme invites students to consider multiple perspectives in a way that fosters critical evaluation and reflection. Appreciation of theory and research findings, including relevant ethical and sociocultural issues is linked to understanding of real-life applications of theory to the full range of experience and behaviour and the application of psychological understanding to real-world questions.
