Introduction


Depending on your interests or professional needs, you may choose to apply for any one of these accounting certificate courses stated below:

Accounting for Business (2 days/15 hours)
This course gives students an overview of the key aspects of management accounting, covering relevant techniques to analyse, record, summarise and present accounting information for decision making.

Finance and Economy (2 days/15 hours)
This course provides students with an overview of the key aspects of finance and financial mathematics. Students will also develop an understanding of the financial market and its contributions to the economy.

Financial Reporting and Analysis (2 days/15 hours)
This course introduces students to key accounting concepts and equips them with the ability to prepare financial statements, analyse accounting transactions and make sense of financial ratios.

Upon completion of the three courses stated above, you will be certified with the Professional Certificate in Accounting and Finance from PSB Academy.

Area of Studies


Accounting for Business (2 days/15 hours)
Apply relevant management accounting techniques in decision-making;
Prepare internal and external accounting reports;
Assess the performance of business organisations in managing cash, receivables, inventory, non-current assets, and costs; and
Perform variance analysis.

Finance and Economy (2 days/15 hours)
Understand the scope and purpose of finance;
Explain the relation between risk and return;
Apply the concepts of time value of money and discounted cash flows to personal and corporate financial decision making; and
Determine a firm’s cost of capital and working capital requirements.

Financial Reporting and Analysis (2 days/15 hours)
Record financial data from source documents using journals, ledger accounts and subsidiary records;
Prepare and describe the use of financial statements;
Assess the performance of a business in relation to profitability, liquidity, efficiency and stability; and
Prepare budgets and explain their roles in the planning, control, and decision-making process.



Entry Requirements


Accounting for Business (2 days/15 hours)
Before attending this course, it is recommended for students to have:
Familiarity in basic computer, internet usage and the Microsoft Excel software
Basic understanding of business accountancy and finance
No prior courses or certifications are required for students to take this course.

Finance and Economy (2 days/15 hours)
Before attending these courses, it is recommended for students to have:
Familiarity in basic computer, internet usage and the Microsoft Excel software
Basic understanding of business accountancy and finance
No prior courses or certifications are required for students to take this course

Financial Reporting and Analysis (2 days/15 hours)

•    Usual Course Fees: S$642 UTAP is a training benefit for NTUC members to defray their cost of training.

NTUC members enjoy 50% ^unfunded course fee support for up to $250 each year when you sign up for courses supported under UTAP.

To be eligible for the funding, student will need to complete all 3 courses under the Professional Certificate in Business Analytics.
