Course introduction

Introduction


This programme is an advancement from the Post Graduate Certificate in Malaysian Legal Practice that is developed for practitioners, by practitioners, and focuses on developing technical and practical proficiency through innovative learning methods. The purpose of this practice-based program is to advance on students’ knowledge towards specialised and integrated understandings about the subject in its respective fields. It is anticipated that students would use this program to deepen and/or broaden their existing professional knowledge and skills for application in legal practice. The learning objectives and criteria for assessment of learning outcomes are directed to professional, effective, and practical presentation of work, oral and written communication skills, demonstration of relevant content knowledge, demonstration of relevant practical knowledge, higher-order thinking, with advanced and integrated application of professional knowledge and skills. Satisfactory completion of this online program will contribute to students’ advanced and integrated understanding of a complex body of legal professional knowledge of the chosen subjects in the program. The program will help students develop expert, specialised cognitive and technical skills to analyse critically, reflect on, and synthesise information and concepts to solve complex legal problems and support decisionmaking and to interpret and transmit knowledge, skills and ideas to specialist and non-specialist audiences. The student has the option of choosing four (4) out of eleven (11) subjects in the list of modules in successfully completing this course.

Entry Requirements


20 Years of age and above and Either a recognised Bachelor of Laws qualification or other private or foreign Bachelor of Laws qualifications which will be assessed on a cases by case basis; and The BAC Postgraduate Certificate in Malaysian Legal Practice or other recognised Post Graduate qualifications of equivalent level. (Language Proficiency : at least IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 550 or PTE Academic 50)
