The programme prepares students for an exciting and challenging career in the construction industry. After completing this course, students should have a broad range of knowledge of the technical, managerial, economic, theoretical and environmental aspects of civil engineering in its widest sense, and can confidently apply themselves both to the management and design of civil engineering projects.

Licensing of Builders
Students need to have at least 5 years (inaggregate) of practical experience in the execution of construction projects (whether in Singapore or elsewhere) after attaining the above mentioned program in order to apply to BCA as a General Builder GB Class 1 Technical Controller.

Assessment : Assignment and Written Examination

Part-time: 15 months

Option A:  S$16,157.00 with GST (3 Instalments)  
Option B:  S17,548.00 with GST (15 instalments plans)

Entry Requirements


Academic requirements:

  • Successful completion of Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering or Professional Diploma in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Construction Engineering and Managemenet or equivalent; or
  • Relevant Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent; or
  • Relevant Polytechnic Diploma (e.g. Civil Engineering with Business, etc.) or equivalent; or
  • Matured students:  At least 30 years old with at least 8 years relevant working experiences (Civil Engineering & Engineering industry) and have obtained other Diploma qualification will be considered on a case to case basis.
 

English Requirements
  • GCE C6 or IELTS 6.0 or an equivalent qualification; OR
  • Those who complete a diploma/ degree in the medium of English, then we will accept the qualification as sufficient evidence of English Language proficiency.
  • All applications are subjected to the approval of Birmingham City University.
