Introduction


Programme Objectives

This programme aims to produce graduates who are enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the rapidly changing discipline of computer security and networks, while able to uphold the legal, ethical and professional standards expected of a security and networks specialist.
The overall aims of the programme are to:

  1. Produce graduates who are enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the rapidly changing discipline of cybersecurity and networks, and appreciate its growing impact on modern living.
  2. Produce graduates who will uphold the legal, ethical and professional standards expected of a cybersecurity and networks specialist.
  3. Enable students to acquire a range of practical, professional and transferable skills to equip them to contribute to their chosen profession in cybersecurity or computer networks, or to pursue further studies.
  4. Enable students to engage with current research issues to consolidate their knowledge base and understanding of currently available technologies and emerging trends in cybersecurity and computer networks.
  5. Develop students’ cognitive and critical reflection skills to equip them for enterprise, employment and further academic research.
  6. Provide an industry and commercially relevant web production education for students from a variety of subject backgrounds and/or employment experience utilising appropriate modes of study.

Entry Requirements


Local Application

Entry Requirements
All applicants must be of age 17 and above, and must obtain one of the following requirements:
For Year 1 entry
International Foundation Diploma in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Art - Technology from MDIS 
OR
At least two GCE 'A' Levels
OR
Relevant foundation diploma qualifications awarded by other Private Education Institutions (PEIs) (equivalent to pathway programme) with an entry requirement of 10 years of formal education
For Year 2 entry
MDIS Higher Diploma+ in Information Technology 
OR
Relevant diploma level qualifications awarded by other Private Education Institutions (PEIs) (equivalent to 1st year EDP) with an entry requirement of 12 years of formal education
For Year 3 entry
Relevant local/overseas polytechnic diplomas with an entry requirement of 10 years of formal education 
OR
Higher National Diploma level qualifications in Information Technology related disciplines 
OR
Relevant PEIs  qualifications (equivalent to 1st and 2nd year EDP) with entry requirement of 12 years of formal education
+ Formally known as International Diploma in Information Technology. 
 
English Language Requirements
The applicant is required to achieve one of the following:
C6 in English at GCE 'O' Levels 
OR
IELTS 6.0 (with no elements lower than 5.5) 
OR
Pass grade for MDIS Professional Certificate in English at Advanced Level 
OR
Pass the MDIS Placement Test at Advanced Level
