Programme Objectives
This course provides students with technical and managerial understanding to develop and manage modern information systems such as networked computers, the web and large scale databases.
In addition, the programme aims to:

  • Provide a challenging, stimulating and self-rewarding study environment.
  • Develop a range of transferable skills by means of opportunities provided in the study units.
  • Develop knowledge, understanding and skills in the Business Information Systems subject area.
  • Promote career aspirations by including topics on general professional practice and skills.

Year 3
You can choose either the Final Year Study Project or Individual Project (Engineering) as your core module.

Entry Requirements
All applicants must be of age 17 and above, and must obtain one of the following requirements:
For Year 2 entry

  • Higher Diploma+ in Information Technology awarded by MDIS OR
  • Relevant diploma level qualifications awarded by other Private Education Institutions (PEIs) or recognised Higher Education provider in information-technology/systems-related disciplines, (which are deemed by the University to be equivalent to Year 1 of the University course) with an entry requirement of 12 years of formal education*
For Year 3 entry
  • Relevant polytechnic diplomas in information-technology/systems-related disciplines, (which are deemed by the University to be equivalent to Year 1 AND Year 2 of the University course) with a pass grade* OR
  • Relevant overseas polytechnic diplomas in information-technology/systems-related disciplines, (which are deemed by the University to be equivalent to Year 1 AND Year 2 of the University course) with an entry requirement of 10 years of formal education* OR
  • Higher National Diploma (HND) in information-technology/systems-related disciplines OR
  • Relevant PEIs qualifications in information-technology/ systems-related disciplines (which are deemed by the University to be equivalent to Year 2 of the University course) with entry requirement of 12 years of formal education*
Note: Some applicants may need to take bridging modules within the programme and/or from International Diploma in Information Technology awarded by MDIS to secure entry onto the programme.
*All applications are subject to University approval through its Recognition of Prior Learning Policy and procedures.
+ Formally know as International Diploma in Information Technology.
English Language Requirements
The applicant is required to achieve one of the following:
  • Possess a minimum C6 grade in English at GCE 'O' Level OR
  • IELTS score of 6.0 (with no element below 5.5) OR
  • TOEFL score of 550 OR
  • Completed MDIS Professional Certificate in English (PCIE) OR
  • Equivalent
International Application
