The Diploma programme consists of 8 subjects and may be completed in 8 months.

  • Introduction to Media Studies (IMS)
  • Graphic Design in a Digital Age (GDDA)
  • Visual Storytelling in a Digital Age (VSDA)
  • New Media and Social Networks (NMSN)
  • Principles of Marketing (PMKT)

Programme Structure


Delivery Method
The programme consists of 8 units and may be completed in a minimum of 8 months over 4 terms. Each unit is timetabled to include assessment, consultation, technology integrated learning and 33 contact hours*. Programmes are scheduled for 5 days a week, 3 hours a day. Students are expected to be on campus for classes, workshops and self-study.
*Please take note that the full duration of each unit as timetabled stands at 42 hours.

Assessment Methods
Each unit is assessed by any combination of class participation, written assignments, project or examinations. Assessment methods may vary according to individual unit requirements.



Entry Requirements


Entry Requirements
Academic Level:
Local Students

  • Kaplan Foundation Diploma; or
  • Mature candidates (30 years old or older with 8 years of work experience); or
  • GCE A-Level; or
  • Other private or foreign qualifications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis
GCE O-Level/NITEC/Higher NITEC holders can gain entry to the Diploma programmes after completing the Kaplan Foundation Diploma.
Students who do not meet the entry requirements may contact our Programme Consultants on the alternative programmes available.
International Students
  • Completion of Year 12; or
  • Completion of less than Year 12 will be considered if it is an official completion of High School in the country of origin; or
  • IB Diploma; or
  • Pre-university certifications
  • Other private or foreign qualifications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis
     
English Language Requirement:
  • GCE O-Level English (Grade 1 to 7) or equivalent; or
  • Kaplan English Placement Test; or
  • IELTS 6.0 or equivalent (applicable for International students); or
  • Kaplan Diploma in Professional Business English (PBEP) Level 5 (applicable for International students)



Fees & Funding


Tuition Fees
The total fee covers lectures/tutorials/workshops and assessments such as assignments/tests/examinations/projects (where applicable), programme materials in digital format, Diploma/Advanced Diploma (if earned) and transcript.
For Singaporean / PR

  • Programme Fee
    • Instalment 1: S$1,551.50
    • Instalment 2: S$1,551.50
    • Instalment 3: S$1,471.25
    • Instalment 4: S$1,471.25
      Total: S$6,045.50
      S$5945.50 (after S$100 study rebate1 for fresh GCE O/A/ITE graduates & ORD personnel). However, study rebate will be deductable from the last instalment if payment is made by instalment plan.

  • Application Fee: S$85.60
  • Student Development Fee: S$160.50
For International Students
  • Application Fee: S$492.20
  • Administration Fee: S$963 (includes application for Kaplan Student Access Card, Student’s Pass, Fee Protection Scheme and Medical Insurance)
