Course introduction

Introduction


The Foundation Diploma for Tertiary Studies (FDTS) programme is developed to prepare students for higher education. The programme provides the necessary theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in multi-disciplinary studies to prepare students for different disciplines in the next level of studies.

Upon completion of this course, students may progress to our Higher Diploma courses, which are equivalent to the 1st two years of a UK honours degree. Following which, students may progress to our final year degree programme.

Coursework-based assessments and examinations.

Graduation Requirements:
Students who successfully complete and pass the modules stipulated in the course structure will be awarded the Foundation Diploma for Tertiary Studies from TMC Academy.

- Introduction to Study Skills
- Communication
- Introduction to Information Technology
- Introduction to Social and Digital Media
- Psychology Applied to Work
- Project



Entry Requirements


Age
16 years old

Academic Qualification
Any of the following:
- Obtained at least a C6 at GCE O level in any 1 subject
- NITEC or Higher NITEC

English Proficiency
Any of the following:
- At least a C6 at GCE O level English
- Completed a prior Diploma where medium of instruction is English

Mature Candidates
≥ 30 years old with 8 years of work experience

Full-Time:

Part-Time: 
10 months*

*may be completed in 6 months (full-time) or 8 months (part-time) depending on English proficiency.
