Course introduction

Introduction


'Diploma in Civil Engineering' focuese on construction and building environment studies that encompasses the structural, designing phrase, various technology adopted and approach to the technical problems. Today's construction industry faces significant challenges in productivity, technology, shortage of skill, construction contracts and procurement. The programme aims to provide students a detail demonstration on basic and foundational knowledge pertaining to the construction industry. More importantly, students will learn critical and analytical skills to cope with the higher level requirements as a Civil/Construction Engineer.

This programme will education and equip students with various skills demanded in construction projects - especially in the field of Architecture, Structural enginners, Civil Engineers and Quantity surveyors. Students will develop a good understanding of an appreciate how the different construction teams & functions integrated contribute to organisational success at both operational and corporate level.

Entry Requirements


  • Minimum Grade in any 3 GCE ' A' Level, including English and 2 Science subjects or equivalent; or
  • Minimum C6 in any 3 GCE 'O' Level, including english and 2 Science subjects (Grade C6 and above) with 3 years' working experience in the engineering field; or
  • Working Experience: Matured candidate with other relevant certificate qualification with 5 years' relevant work experience.

    Week Schedule: 5 days per week (3 hrs per day)

2. Part-Time: 7 months
    Total Contact hours: 210 (no breaks between exams and modules)
    Weekend: 1 Sunday (8 hrs class)
    Week Schedule: 2 days per week (4 hrs per day)
