Course Outline


Deterrence (Perform Security Duties at Protected Areas and Protected course is a prerequisite for any security officer who is tasked to provide guarding services at a Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) sanctioned 'Protected Place' or 'Protected Area'. The intent of the course is to transfer knowledge and skills to security officer so that they can duly apply appropriate actions to deter undesired outcomes when on duty at a protected area or protected place, and to support the PLRD mandatory requirement for security.

Access Control Management (Operate Basic Security Equipment) course is targeted at the Security Industry Sector. Under the Progressive Wag e Model (PWM) for Security, a licensing condition under the Police Licensing and Regulatory Department (PLRD), any security officer who seeks to progress to the position of Senior Security Officer (SSO) must complete both corticate courses, namely Access Control Management (Operate Basic Security Equipment) SEC-TE M-2001-1.1 and Deterrence (Manage Disorderly Conduct and Threatening Behaviour) SEC-ICM-1001-1.1. The intent of the course is to transfer knowledge and skills to security office so that they can duly operate security equipment as part of their job function to safeguard the premise he or she is guarding.

Manage Disorderly Conduct and Threatening Behaviour  course is targeted at the Security Industry Sector. Under the Progressive Wage Model (PWM) for Security, a licensing condition under the Police Licensing and Regulatory Department (PLRD), any security over who seeks to progress to the position of Senior Security Officer (SSO) must complete both certificate courses, namely Access Control Management (Operate Basic Security Equipment) SEC-TE M-2001-1.1 and Deterrence (Manage Disorderly Conduct and Threatening Behaviour) SEC-ICM-1001-1.1. The intent of the course is to transfer knowledge and skills to security officer so that they can duly handle any incident involving disorderly conduct and threatening behaviour at the premise they are guarding.
