Food handlers will now be required to attend their first refresher training five years after completing their Basic Food Hygiene Course (BFHC) and the subsequent ones at 10-year intervals, instead of the previous cycle of once every three years. If you have completed your BFHC course before 1 Oct 2014, you are required to attend your first refresher training three years after your course completion date instead of 5 years. Upon successful completion of course and assessment, learners will be awarded a Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG). There will be an 1.5 hour assessment after the course. At the end of the module, learners are required to complete a summative assessment, comprising of Multiple Choice Questions, Oral Questioning and Practical Performance. Depending on the speed each learner takes to complete the assessment, the assessment should end before 3pm.
Note: Learners must achieve at least 75% attendance and pass all assessments components of the course to be eligible for funding for Certifiable Skills Training Courses
