The basic models of family therapy will be presented in order to assist students in their understanding of family dynamics. Students will have an opportunity to apply these models in family therapy role-play. This course will also address issues relative to diversity in families along with perspectives of family therapy. The purpose of this course is to provide students with an introduction to family counselling theory, perspectives of family therapy along with issues of diversity. This course further enhance students to recognize societal trends and treatment issues affects families in our current society.
