Course Benefits


The aims of this course are to enable candidates to develop: an understanding of administration and organization; knowledge of administration systems and procedures; and an understanding of a range of business services and management support. This qualification is intended for candidates who are working or preparing to work in an administrative role which requires initiative and business awareness. Successful candidates who also obtain passes in English for Business Level 2, Business Practice Level 3 and in a Level 3 Office Skills award will qualify for the Level 3 Private Secretarys Diploma. Successful candidates who also obtain a pass in a Level 3 IT award will qualify for the Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration.

After the completion of the course, students will understand and be able to:
- produce written business communications
- the importance of mission statements and business objectives
- organisational structures
- how the administrative function supports business objectives and sustainability
- how to plan and allocate work in a team
- the importance of personal development and involving team members in target setting
- the value of diversity within a team, how to motivate team members and resolve conflict
between them
- the need to assess and evaluate the work of a team and how to do this
- how to manage verbal communications effectively
- managing diary systems and how to plan, organise and support meetings and events
and organise travel and accommodation
- the types of information held in business organisations and the need to manage that
information in line with user needs.

Assessment Information
  • EXAMINABLE THEORY PAPER (EXTERNAL AWARD BY LONDON CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY INTERNATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, UK) - 4 TIMES / YEAR [MARCH & APRIL (Series 2/On-Demand) / JUNE (Series 3) / SEPTEMBER (On-Demand) / NOVEMBER & DECEMBER (Series 4)].


Criteria of Award
  • Candidates must fulfill at least 75% course attendance requirements by AEB to sit for examinations. To obtain the certificate, students need to obtain at least a Pass grade in their examinations.


Final Award
  • London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Level 3 Certificate in Business Administration

Module Synopsis

The Level 3 Certificate in Business Administration is a single unit qualification that consists of the range of topics detailed below. Syllabus Topics include: Equipment, Materials, Services and Supplies; Work Environment and Controls; Procedures, Information and Communication; Organisation and Personal Effectiveness; and Business Meetings, Events and Travel.

The examination will assess the candidates ability to:
  • demonstrate the need for effective work practices, administration systems and procedures
  • show awareness of the importance of accurate and timely information and effective business communication
  • identify appropriate suppliers of equipment and services and after sales care
  • identify appropriate equipment and services for given situations
  • plan business meetings, events and travel

Grading System

GRADING / RESULTS
50% - 59% - PASS
60% - 74% - PASS WITH CREDIT
75% and above - PASS WITH DISTINCTION


Expected date of release of Assessment result

Assessment results will be available to the students within 3 months upon completion of the last assessment for that assessment cycle. Appeal (if any) on assessment results must be lodged within 7 days after the release of assessment results.
