Introduction
This course will meet the needs of those who are keen to keep abreast of the latest developments in the area of life sciences. Students must complete 7 modules to be awarded the Specialist Diploma. Students are strongly advised to complete all modules offered in their year of enrolment and thus complete the requirements of the Specialist Diploma in one academic year. Each module consists of 35 hours of lectures and practicals with a practical component of approximately 50-60% of the total curriculum hours. Each module will run for one month. Formal assessment will consist of examinations, assignments and laboratory based assessments. Examinations will be held at the end of each semester. Graduates of the Specialist Diploma who wish to undertake additional modules may apply to do so as short course participants. This is however subject to availability of places.
