Bachelor of Business (Accounting)

A qualification in business opens the door to great opportunities and a huge variety of careers. The acccounting major provides you the skill to manage contemporary and evolving accounting issues. Our accounting degree holds full accreditation with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA) and CPA Australia.

Entry requirements

Entrance requirements are different from country to country but in general applicants must have satisfactorily completed 12 years of schooling or equivalent.

Successful completion of the James Cook University Foundation Program will also satisfy the entrance requirement.

English Language requirements for ALL students

• IELTS 6.0 (no component lower than 5.5)/ TOFEL 550 (with a minimum written English text score of 4.0) and above; or
• Satisfactory completion of the James Cook University English Language Preparatory Program (ELPP)
• Students who have successfully completed 2 years of full-time study in English medium may satisfy the English language requirement.

Advanced Standing
Credit exemption may be granted for students with tertiary qualifications from recognized institutions on a case-by-case basis.

They progress through a wide range of employment opportunities in the public and private sectors including: public accounting practice, financial and management accounting, system accountant, financial officer, management consulting and policy advisor.
