Course Introduction
A modular programme for middle managers with functional responsibilities in warehousing, transport, inventory or materials management. On successful completion of all the assessments and project students are awarded the CILT Level 5 Professional Diploma in Logistics and Transport. Typically candidates will hold first or middle management positions, such as, Distribution Manager, Materials Manager, Warehouse Manager, Transport Manager, Inventory Manager with at least 5 years working experience.

144 Hours (Approximately 12 months)
Eligibility
- Singapore Citizen, Permanent Resident or Holding a valid work permit/Employment pass
- 21 Years of age
- Certificate or O Level
- 5 years working experience
Course Outline
The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Professional Diploma in Logistics and Transport provides recognition of the professional knowledge and skills of middle managers working in a logistics environment.
On completion of the CILT Diploma, students may apply for the membership of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (MILT).
The CILT Diploma has been modelled on a competency model which specifies precisely what a manager should be able to do and how well it should be done. It is a recommended qualification for managers involved with:-
- contributing to the establishment of logistics strategy
- establishing activity plans to support logistics strategy
- reviewing operational activities
- allocating work to others
- achieving specific results by using resources effectively
- carrying out policy in your defined area of authority
- controlling limited financial budgets and
- contributing to broader activities such as change programmes and recruitment.
THE ASSESSMENT PROCESS
The assessment process is designed to test two things:
- The knowledge of the individual
- The practical application of that knowledge
The assessment process will take into account prior learning, achievement and experience, which is appropriate to the requirements of the qualification.
Students will be assessed against simulated projects and are required to respond to the Assessor’s questions within stipulated of the date of those questions.
When all the evidence of performance has been gathered the Institute will assess it. When the Institute is satisfied that the requirements of the qualification have been met the student will be awarded the CILT Level 5 Professional Diploma in Logistics and Transport.
COURSE DURATION
The duration of the course is 144 hours (approximately 12 months).
