Objectives

Are you facing limitations in using MS Excel? MS Excel is commonly used in companies. However, many users may be unfamiliar with the variety of tools and techniques to maximize their productivity. Whether it is designing an inventory report, evaluating suppliers or analysing cost, MS Excel is a must-have solution.

This workshop is specially designed for professionals working in the transport and logistics industry. It is an interactive workshop in a computer laboratory where each student uses a desktop with pre-installed program and exercises to facilitate hands-on learning.

The course contents are developed by logistician using real-life examples and case studies. Participants can apply the new skills immediately through the sample exercises. This course thus provides dual benefits – participants can learn new MS Excel skills directly applicable to overcome common issues faced in the workplace.

Note : This is an intermediate level course. Participants are expected to have basic knowledge of MS Office Excel and have used the solution for at least a year. This is not an introductory course on MS Excel. The version used will be MS Office Excel 2013.

This is a hands-on course where participants will have intensive practical session using MS Excel.

  • Understanding Lookup Functions (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP)

Section 3 : Creating Visual Displays
  • Developing Charts
  • Adding Controls
  • Customizing Charts
  • Using Sparklines

Section 4 : Analyzing Data Effectively
  • Using Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts
  • Finding Optimal Solution through Solver
