Course Synopsis
Today’s fast-moving business environment demands that the effective manager is not only adept at understanding how people behave in the workplace but is also well-organised and accomplished in the key business fundamentals. With an array of management skills at your fingertips, you will be confident and capable of tackling any business challenge.
 
The Business Administration top-up is ideal for students with a polytechnic diploma in a business related field. It provides students with an excellent opportunity to study the core disciplines including marketing, human resources and finance. The final year focuses on strategy and wider business activities and their effects on business management. This combination of modules provide students with an ideal springboard to a masters.
 
Programme Structure
Each final year degree consists of 6 modules of 20 credits each, with the award criteria being classified as Honours degree (120 credits).

  • Other Business or Accounting related Diplomas will also be considered for direct entry into the final year
  • English Language proficiency (One of the following)
    • GCE ‘O’ level pass (min C6) or IELTS 6.0 or equivalent
    • Completed a recognised qualification (i.e Polytechnic Diploma) where English was the medium of instruction
    • SAA-GE Upper Intermediate Certificate in English Proficiency

Course Delivery and Duration

Course Delivery
The Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Business Administration can be taken Part-Time or Full-Time. Classes are a mix lectures and tutorials whereby students adopt an active role in learning through discussions and presentations. The teacher-student ratio is capped at 1:80. 
 
Classes for the Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Business Administration will be held at the City Campus.
 
Course Duration
The Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Business Administration is delivered on a trimester basis, with each trimester lasting 13 weeks. The total duration is approximately 1 year.
