Introduction


The Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education - with module exemption - For ADKET holders (650h) -  is similar to those stated for DECCE-T and DECCE-L, but the mode of delivery is specially tailored for mature trainees who hold Advanced Diploma in Kindergarten Education – Teaching (ADKET) with minimum C6 in English (EL1) and degree or polytechnic diploma.

**From January 2009, new early childhood teachers are required to obtain a minimum B4 in EL1 or minimum band of 6.5 in IELTS (General Training). Applicants must do so within 2 years of their registration as early childhood teachers.

Advancement: Students will work as Senior Teachers, Supervisors, Head of Department or Principals. Graduates are advised to enroll into our Bachelor of Social Science (BSS - Majoring in Children and Family Studies), so that they can advance as policy makers, practitioners and managers not only in the early childhood areas but also, in the social services sector.
