Course introduction

This unique patrol of its kind on bicycles around the Marina Reservoir will give the opportunity for participants to learn about water and environmental issues while having fun and staying healthy at the same time!



Target Audience


This programme is suitable for students. VIA programmes and corporate groups looking for a family day out or CSR programme with an emphasis on protrecting the environmental.



Course Outline


This activity brings learning out of the classroom. Starting off with a quick lesson on the environmental impacts of litter and how it affects the waterways, participants will be briefed on the cycling patrol.
They will cycle around the Marina Bay following the patrol route of our Waterways Watch Society members and help to pick up litter along hotspots. See first hand how litter from all over accumulates in the drainage systems and ends up in the waterways affecting activity goers in the waterways as well as businesses whose boats ply the area to pick up tourists.

Participants can expect to cycle past places of interest such as the Marina Barrage and Singapore Flyer. 

Duration: 3 hours

Equipment / Items needed: Bicycles, helmets and accessories as well as clean-up materials will be provided.

Participants are to bring their own personal water bottles, wear comfortable outdoor attire with covered shoes.

 

$200 per group of 10
