About the School
Box Hill Institute Singapore (BHIS) is fully owned by Box Hill Institute of TAFE from Melbourne, Australia and has been operating in Singapore since mid-2009. It is registered as a Private Education Institution (PEI) with the Council for Private Education (CPE).
The major current work of the Campus is as a Program Partner and Continuing Education and Training (CET) Centre for the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), delivering Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications System (WSQ) courses and competencies contained within the Community and Social Services (CSS), Student Care (SC), Tourism and Food & Beverage Sectors (TFB) frameworks.
BHIS works closely with the WDA and leading industry organisations to design and deliver WDA courses which provide a formal WSQ qualification outcome at either individual competency or full course level. A key focus of the work of BHIS is to design and deliver customised enterprise based programs to industry in addition to upgrade the skills of the diverse workforce through the WDA or other funding bodies available.
In addition, BHIS is planning to diverse its business portfolios by delivering a wide range of both Singaporean and Australian competencies and qualifications, and consultancy services, in other industry sectors, with a focus on the industry sectors that BHIS believes could value-add and leverage its capabilities. These could include lower level competencies in Senior Services, Allied Health and Early Childhood and Education, Training and Assessment (ACTA) and ICT, on government grants beyond the WDA, or on a fee-for-service basis.
